ABOUT US

Monkami Centre provides support and services to 145 adults with an intellectual disability. Monkami was established 55 years ago and has developed into an innovative service that is an important part of the local community. It has well developed links with local schools, businesses, Maroondah City Council, Shire of Yarra Ranges Council, other disability services and not for profit organisations, community centres, local groups and more. These links exist to provide improved opportunities and outcomes for our clients as individuals.

The Mission Statement for Monkami states that its purpose is to provide each adult quality services and the opportunity for individuals with an intellectual disability to develop skills that will enable them to live with the greatest degree of independence within their own community.
